WORLD BATTLE OF THE BANDS Goes Global

June 28, 2004

The World Battle of the Bands is seeking out the hottest, unsigned acts of four countries spanning the Pacific Rim. This is a competition organized by musicians for musicians. The aim is to seek out the most astounding live music the world has to offer.

The World Battle of the Bands started in West Auckland 12 years ago, and is run by New Zealand-owned label Intergalactic Records.

The competition, which kicked off to an exceptional start in Hong Kong on June 15th to a packed house, is continuing on to the United States, Australia and New Zealand — with the winners of each respective region flying to Auckland, New Zealand this December for the world final.

Starting in New Zealand on Wednesday, July 14, The World Battle of the Bands will be staged at sixteen venues nationwide. Bands are being urged to register as soon as possible, via the official web site. Full terms and conditions are explained on the site.
